Hello! My name is Jodi.
I’m a digital product designer who loves learning about people, understanding the challenges they face, and creating purposeful experiences to help them achieve their goals.
A snapshot
I love learning how people think and discovering how my skills can help make lives easier, more enjoyable, or maybe even both! Over the past eight years, I’ve designed responsive websites, native apps, and IoT-connected experiences for a wide variety of audiences across a broad range of industries. I’ve worked primarily in the R&D space with cross-functional product teams in lean/agile environments to design and deliver end-to-end products that bring measurable value to our customers as well as the business.
My moxie
I’ve enjoyed my responsibilities of managing projects, fostering healthy design cultures, facilitating workshops, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, ideating concepts, prototyping, testing with users, delivering high-fidelity visual designs, standardizing quality assurance, and implementing design systems. I’m capable and eager to jump into any area that needs support and love figuring out how to improve operational efficiencies. Admittedly, my favorite place to think is on a whiteboard.
Design approach
As a design guardian, my overarching responsibilities are to understand ‘users’ (humans) and advocate for their best interests. Relationship building with product, tech, and business partners has proven vital for navigating critical conversations and reaching fair compromises without sacrificing the integrity and quality of the experience.
I encourage intentional and purposeful decision-making from a user’s perspective based on evidence of “something we know” (e.g.— customer insights, analytics) or running lean experiments for “something we need or want to learn” (i.e— sound hypotheses tied to success metrics).
